This is a ride on a newlyintroduced Class 730 electric multiple unit for West Midlands Railway, on the branch line from Barnt Green to Redditch. This route is part of the CrossCity line and has been through many changes. Firstly, with the closure of the line beyond Redditch in 1962, from then there were just three daily trains between Redditch and Birmingham New Street until 1980. In 1993, the line was electrified, and the thennew Class 323 EMUs were introduced the following year. In the 2010s, a new platform and passing loop were installed at Alvechurch station.
