On a hot and very uncomfortably humid day in July, we walk under the train tracks of the 6 train in The Bronx NYC. We will be walking along Westchester Avenue from Elder Avenue to Metropolitan Avenue in the neighborhoods of Soundview and Parkchester. Westchester Avenue is home to the elevated tracks of the 6 train from Soundview to Pelham Bay. We will hear plenty of train traffic sounds as we make our way along the busy streets of The Bronx.

The avenue is lined with many retail stores, markets, street vendors, and places to grab some food. There will be plenty of people on the streets, and a good amount of traffic. Once we come to Metropolitan Avenue, we will continue walking through the Parkchester neighborhood until calling it a day at the Bronx Unionport Parkchester Park. It will be a refreshing end to a hot walk because of the many fountains at the park.
