Sit back and enjoy the sights at this classic flyin from 1011 September 2022. The Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum (WAAAM) hosts this annual event as a fundraiser that is also a prime social event for pilots and enthusiasts form all over the Pacific Northwest. In addition to flying appearances by several of the museum's vast collection, other flyin attendees and local airport residents' airplanes are seen overhead.
This year, heavy smoke from regional wildfires obscured any view of Mount Hood and cast the event in filtered light. About 200 aircraft made the flight to Hood River for the flyin. Stars of the weekend included WAAAM's newly acquired Ford Trimotor, which flew on Saturday with the museum's Boeing Model 40 mail plane, the oldest flying Boeing aircraft.
