A twoday strike at WestJet has ended.

Late Sunday, the Calgarybased airline company announced that the strike had ended as it had reached a deal with the mechanical union representing its flight engineers.

More than 800 flights were cancelled due to the strike, causing travellers to scramble over the long weekend to rebook their trips.

Approximately 680 mechanics walked off the job on Friday night — stopping inspections and repairs of equipment and aircraft.

WestJet has warned that flight disruptions will continue this week as the airline works to bring its planes back into service.

Those include two cancelled WestJet flights to Calgary from Hamilton’s John C. Munro Airport set for 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. Monday.
