In response to recent trolling, and now in an unprecedented move, the WDA is directly linking prowhaling digital activity — such as comments, threats, and harassment—to ontheground actions that will sabotage and dismantle whaling operations.

The growing surge of online trolling, particularly from individuals and groups who support illegal whaling, has escalated in recent months as the WDA's AntiPoaching Vessel (APV) represent new threats and challenges the current whaling industry is not equipped to handle. These trolls, often hiding behind anonymous accounts, seek to harass, discredit, and undermine our efforts to protect endangered and other whale populations. We recognize that this trolling isn't just harmless noise, it's part of a larger attempt to weaken antiwhaling organizations and defend the slaughter of whales.

This new strategy from the Whale Defense Agency's leadership directly combats those efforts by weaponizing their hostile comments against them. Every time a prowhaling troll leaves a comment in support of whaling or attacks our mission, we will respond by targeting the whaling fleet itself. Whether it’s sabotaging harpoon systems, interfering with a ship’s radar, or sinking vessels outright, WDA is committed to turning every troll’s message into a realworld consequence for the whalers.

For decades, prowhaling factions and their supporters have hidden behind keyboards, believing that their online harassment can weaken antiwhaling efforts without repercussions. This ends now. We're now linking trolling behavior to realworld antiwhaling actions, and we are making the simple act of commenting in support of whaling a dangerous proposition.
