Steven has been a Partner at Upfront since its founding in 1996. Upfront Ventures is a VC firm focusing on investments in early stage technology companies, with totals of $800 million. Prior to Upfront, Steven was a Senior Vice President of Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette in the Investment Banking Division. He was also a member of DLJ’s Retailing Group for 14 years, where he provided advisory and capital raising services to more than 30 different retailers and numerous information technology companies. Steven focuses on investments in earlystage companies in Financial Services and Technology, Consumer, SaaS, and Big Data.

In 2015, Slush brought together 15.000 attendees, including 1.700 startups, 800 venture capital investors and 630 journalists from exactly 100 countries. People from more than half of the world’s countries traveled to the cold and dark Helsinki, with the ambition of taking their business to the next level.

Slush is a nonprofit event organized by a community of entrepreneurs, investors, students and festival organizers. Although Slush has grown from a 300person event to become one of the leading events of its kind in the world, the philosophy behind it has remained the same: to help the next generation of great, worldconquering companies forward.
