WHAT DOES THE NEW VARIANT MEAN FOR TRAVEL? So much needs to be discovered about this new variant, that there are a lot of unanswered questions.
However as far as the Travel Insurance companies are concerned, they are on stand by, as they await to see if the government is going to impose a new travel ban.
Only recently, Canada removed their Level 3 No Nonessential travel ban, to a Level 2, which is to travel with caution. But if they decide to put that Travel Advisory back in place, then most, if not all Insurance companies will remove the plans or clauses that allow for COVID related illnesses to be covered. Or the now called OMICRON variant.
For now, it will be important to keep up to date with your travel insurance plan, if you are away or plan on taking a trip in the near future.
