What I Eat While Backpacking: 4 Day Resupply

Follow
Elise Ott

In this video, I’m doing a quick overview of what a typical trail resupply looks like for my backpacking trips. Obviously, food varies a ton based on what’s available in smaller trail towns, but this will give you a good idea of how I structure my resupplies and what kind of food I eat on backpacking trips.

Sometimes, I like to throw in a few extra fruits and veggies for a more nutritionally dense resupply. I also try to opt for less processed foods when possible since so much of what you eat on a backpacking trip can be highly processed junk with really low nutritional value. I’m thinking I may do a video that is more tips & tricks for the nutritionally conscious oriented, if that’s something you’d like to see, let me know in the comments!

Some of my favorite backpacking food options that I can’t always find in grocery stores:
Dehydrated veggies (great for adding to ramen): https://amzn.to/44i08QZ
Dehydrated hummus (delish with crackers or in wraps): https://amzn.to/3Nx31XS
Dehydrated black beans: https://amzn.to/42gYJbh
Dehydrated refried beans (add rice & taco seasoning for delish lunches): https://amzn.to/3oXFAgd
Mio electrolytes (so easy to add to water & less trash): https://amzn.to/3NxEQIR
Dirty Chai (a nice replacement if you’re sick of instant coffee): https://amzn.to/3VtcVvy
Organifi Red (An afternoon pick me up that isn’t nutritionally abhorrent): https://amzn.to/3Lq6fKc
Organifi Green (get some nutritional value in that won’t go rancid): https://amzn.to/3HzGp5v
Powdered milk (mix with cereal for a luxury breakfast and YUM): https://amzn.to/3p4azHH
Breakfast Essentials (not that hard to find, but love adding this for some nutrition and calories first thing in the morning with my coffee): https://amzn.to/3Vp0FfQ
