An annular tear is a common term that is used to describe a type of tear or tearing that occurs on the annulus of the spinal disc. Normally, their are 3 types of annular tears that may arise, which are a concentric (circumferential), rim lesion (peripheral), or radial (radiating) tear. In this video, I got into specific details regarding each types of these tears and how they may cause or may not cause pain in an individual.

Annular tears are normally caused by repeated movements of flexion, extension or twisting with or without load. Annular tears are also a precursor to a herniated disc (contained or non contained) occurring, which is important to understand.

The purpose of this video is that for people that may be suffering from an annular tear and don't know what annular tear is, to have an understanding about the topic and hopefully develop a recovery program for themselves to help treat this type of injury.
