For many years, Honkai was a concept we knew almost nothing about. But, with the dawn of the latest story arc, HoYoverse finally revealed the true nature behind this previously unexplained phenomenon.

About a year ago, I made a series of videos talking about everything we knew about Honkai, in which I tackled concepts such as the Imaginary Tree, Honkai Energy, the Will of Honkai, and Herrschers. This video is an update to that series. I will take every concept discussed before and update the information with everything we learned in the newest story arc.

In my opinion, Honkai is not something that can have a universally “true” explanation. It’s an alien concept to humanity that our minds weren’t made to fully comprehend. It’s like taking one layer of an onion and saying: “Look, this is an onion!”, when in fact, it’s not. Because each character sees a different layer of the onion, they also use different analogies when talking about it. What I want to do, is go through each layer of the Honkai Onion and explain it separately. Also, at the end of the video, I also present a small theory that could link Finality to the Aeon Terminus from Honkai: Star Rail.

I want to urge you to keep in mind that the concept of Honkai is still hard to grasp and it requires some personal interpretation to present it in a cohesive video format. As even more information could be revealed in the future, some things may change, or prove outright false.
