Helvetica is one of the most famous fonts in the world. Introduced in 1957, it made an immediate impression on designers in particular, and, today, is ubiquitous. So much so that a New York designer tried to live a day without seeing it, and couldn't make it. But, recently, this popular font has been less present. A number of brands that previously used the font have stopped using it in favor of building their own. Why?

This video looks at the history of Helvetica, and the various bespoke alternatives some notable brands are switching to. From Apple and Google to Netflix and Airbnb.
