What is VWU? Interview with Marco who passed EPD and EPM and now is a WU WiSo student

Dear followers, and especially international students who want to start studying a bachelor's degree in Vienna (and this also usually applies in some form or another in Austria in general, but sometimes those supplementary examinations that the universities "prescribe" to international students whose high school leaving certificate isn't "equal" to the Austrian one take place at the university itself instead of in a separate "entity"), this video is made for you so that you know what awaits you and how the whole system works.

A huge thank you to Marco who has kindly agreed to share his experience that started from moving to Vienna and taking the VWU courses to becoming a WU WiSo student and finding a job in Vienna

For different bachelor's different subjects are "prescribed" before you can enroll into the program, for example, for WiSo it is usually German and Maths (and in rare cases also English). Then you have 14 semesters to learn the subjects and pass EPD (the German language test) and EPM (the Maths test) exams to successfully complete the chapter called "VWU" and get to studying at your dream univeristy&program!

IMPORTANT: this VWU procedure does NOT apply to WU BBE (Bachelor's of Business and Economics at WU (Englishtaught)).
In most cases VWU applies to CIS countries, Latin American countries and my friend told me there were a couple of students from China and Iran there.

Even though it sounds like a challenge with studies on top of studies, this system offers future students to start their academic journey in Vienna (Austria) with just an A2 (basic user) German level without having to get a C1 certificate straightaway.
