The Jaguar EType, a British sports car manufactured from 1961 to 1975, is an automotive icon celebrated for its timeless design and outstanding performance. Revered for its aerodynamic elegance, powerful engines, and cuttingedge features such as independent suspension and disc brakes, the EType quickly became a symbol of automotive excellence. Often hailed as one of the most beautiful cars ever made, the EType legacy endures as a testament to Jaguar's commitment to blending style and performance in a truly iconic package. The Series 1.5 Jaguar EType, produced in 1968, represents a transitional phase in the iconic sports car's evolution. A blend between the series 1 and series 2, in some ways offering the best of both worlds.

Interior: The Jaguar EType's interior presents a simple, clean, and elegant black leather design. While the seats have been reupholstered at some point, they today exhibit a nice worn in aesthetic. As a Series 1.5 EType, it combines the timeless exterior of early models with a more comfortable and accommodating interior. The adjustable backrest, a feature not seen in earlier models, adds to the comfort. Being a convertible, it offers easier entry and exit, making it a more accommodating choice, especially for taller individuals. Additionally, the car is equipped with seatbelts for added safety. Other interior details such as gauges, dashboard, and buttons are in good condition.

Exterior: Finished in the classic Primrose Yellow, the exterior of this 1968 Jaguar Series 1.5 EType showcases a timeless appeal. The paint is in good condition, suitable for a nice driver's car. Chrome parts have been restored and are in excellent shape. Notably, the Series 1.5 exterior retains the side markers and taillights from earlier Series 1 cars but features unique headlights exclusive to this model year.

Engine and Mechanics: The car's mechanics are in excellent condition, delivering a satisfying driving experience. The steering feels responsive, and the 4.2liter straightsix engine produces a beautiful exhaust note. With enough power to keep up with modern traffic, the engine and gearbox contribute to the overall enjoyable performance of this classic Jaguar. It has today correct engine block according to the chassi plate. 202401 The car received a new clutch and bearing. Also some new bushings and joints in the front end. Carburettors had a rebuild and the car now runs perfect.

History and Documentation: Originally sold in the USA, this Jaguar EType made its way to Sweden in 1969. Throughout its journey, caring owners have meticulously documented the car's history, with impressive records including MOT papers dating back to the '70s and numerous old service records. The current owner, having had the car for twenty years, has embarked on extensive journeys, including a trip back to the car's home in the UK.
In 1961, the first Jaguar Etype Series 1 saw daylight, and it was an instant success. I am sure one reason for that success was the incredible performance in relation to a relatively low price. The designer, Malcolm Sayer, had created something completely different from anything that had been built in the U.K. before – nothing short of a masterpiece.

Exterior: Personally, I think this car looks so cool with the original hardtop on. The Jaguar Etype series 1 hardtop is light and easy to fit and remove. Please note that this the factory original hardtop supplied with the car. The black canvas softtop is in excellent condition. There is no corrosion to be seen, and the car is as white and clean underneath as it is on top. Welladjusted ride height and still very comfortable on the road. A luggage rack may come in handy when the small trunk is full.

Interior: The Jaguar Etype OTS series 1 for sale here has a wonderful burgundy leather interior in excellent condition. These early Etypes featured stylish brushed aluminum panels and numerous flip switches. You will also find a modern sound system and some speakers for this. All the instruments are in working order. The safety features include mirrors on both sides and seatbelts in red with leaping cats on the buckle.

Engine: This Jaguar Etype starts easily and is just fantastic to drive. The original gearbox is easy to operate. This car underwent an extensive restoration that was completed in 2013. During this restoration, all wearing parts such as joints, bushings, gaskets, rubbers etc., were replaced.
