Also HILARIOUSLY there’s a mistake in a video about my own thesis [noticed after posting]. I’m blaming this one on the lockdown folks. I mislabelled the u and rband magnitudes. “U” is the blue band and “r” is the red band. What I said in the video about ur being greater or less than 0 though still holds this is because in astronomy the lower the magnitude number, the brighter something is. And the higher the number the fainter something is. A relic of a bygone era. You all have my sincerest apologies from my mushy lockdown brain.
