Doris Pronin Fromberg is Professor and pastchairperson of the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Hofstra University, where she also serves as Director of Early Childhood Teacher Education. She serves on the New York State Governor's Early Childhood Advisory Council and on the editorial boards of professional journals. She is pastpresident of the National Association of Early Childhood Teacher Educators (NAECTE) Foundation; pastpresident of the NAECTE; and has chaired the Special Interest Group on Early Childhood Education and Child Development of the American Educational Research Association. as well as the American Association of Colleges of Education Special Study Group on Elementary Education. She was recipient of the New York State Association for the Education of Young Children Champion for Children Early Childhood Leader award and the Early Childhood Teacher Educator of the Year award from NAECTE/Allyn & Bacon.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, selforganized events that bring people together to share a TEDlike experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, selforganized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
