Fishing an overgrown rural stretch of canal that was completely cut off from the main system. Going back to my roots here as I spent a lot of time pike fishing this stretch in the early days of Adventure Fishing UK. Since moving house I've not been lure fishing here for quite a while, because of the distance but also because it's extremely difficult to fish. I blank here the majority of the time, it's very shallow, snaggy, weedy and clear but the rewards can be massive! Here I caught my first ever good pike, but can I catch a bigger one?

This video was filmed over a short afternoon session in really windy conditions, so forgive me if the filming isn't quite up to scratch! I'm sure there's a real beast lurking in these waters somewhere and i'm going to put the hours in to try catch it.
