Vitesse Arnhem finished fourth in Eredivisie in the 202021 season, and beat Tottenham en route to the Round of Sixteen of the UEFA Conference League in 202122, but this season, they have been relegated from the Eredivisie after 35 years, with the largest points deduction in Dutch football history.

Vitesse are best known to a lot of people for their relationship with Premier League giants Chelsea for more than a decade, and in some ways, it is that relationship which is at the heart of their catastrophic demise.
