What Surgery Recovery in the Hospital Is Like

Follow
Survivor Jelena

What is it like to recover in the hospital from major surgery? Join me in this video as I talk about my experience in the hospital after my Lower Anterior Resection (LAR) surgery for Colorectal Cancer. Find out what it’s like to recover from getting 12 inches of colon/rectum removed, 17 lymph nodes removed, and getting an ileostomy. I spent 5 days in the hospital and went from only being allowed to “eat” ice chips to being able to eat regular food again. I talk about how even the most basic of tasks are too difficult and/or painful to be able to do, and why you may not want to spend too long standing in the hot shower.
