Bacalar is one of our favorite places in Mexico. We love it because of its beautiful lagoon of 7 colors.
Continue reading the description so you don't miss any details of what else you can do in Bacalar.

HOW TO GET TO BACALAR

The easiest way to get to Bacalar is by taking a direct flight to Chetumal, then you can take a bus directly to Bacalar. You. will arrive to that paradise in less than an hour.

If there aren't any flights to Bacalar from your city, don't worry; you can fly into Cancun and from there take public transportation, bus, or whatever you'd prefer to get to Bacalar.

Visit our blog http://bit.ly/bacalarviajefest for more information on how to find cheap flights.

WHERE TO STAY IN BACALAR

This time we stayed in Casa China, a hotelhostel that is located on the edge of the lagoon, so it won't be hard to take a swim immediately.

The hotel has private rooms, with their own bathrooms, lagoon views and a hammock so you can relax during your stay. It also includes continental breakfast and the use of kayaks at no extra cost.

It is also pet friendly but does not have handicap access. Here is the link http://bit.ly/casachinabacalar if you wish to stay here.

WHAT ELSE TO DO IN BACALAR

Visit XulHa
Bacalar has many beautiful hidden places at the lagoon and its surroundings. We recommend you to visit XulHa, a village that is only 15 minutes from Bacalar.

Since there are very few people in XulHa, you can enjoy part of the lagoon as if it was your own. You should bring your own food and drinks since there are none available there. Remember to respect the place by removing your trash so many more visitors can enjoy it as well.

The Rapids at Bacalar

We suggest to spend a couple of hours at XulHa and after that go to the Rapids at Bacalar; you will have a great time here! The most interesting and fun part of the place into walk along the bank of the river until you reach the beginning of the rapids; once there, just jump and let the current take you!

It costs 50 MX pesos per person. It also has restaurants where you can eat delicious food at a reasonable price and stay as long as you want. The place is clean and also has hammocks in the water so you can relax even more!

Ziplines at Kan Kin

If you like a rush of adrenaline, then this is for you! There are super fun ziplines hidden in the Mayan forest only 11 minutes from Bacalar. We recommend you to bring bug repellents, comfortable shoes and your desire to have a good time.

It is a group of 5 ziplines at different heights and distances from each other. To top it off, on the last one you will enjoy an incredible view of the lagoon.

Sailboat ride on the Lagoon of Seven Colors

The hotel Casa China has tour services for the lagoon, but this one is different because it is aboard a sailboat. It is ecofriendly and you will relax and enjoy more of the lagoon view.

If you would like more information on this tour, you can contact the staff of Casa China concerning scheduling and prices.

As you can see, there are many things to do in Bacalar; and every time you come back, you will find something new to do.
