Cherbourg, France is the cruise port that gives you access to ‪@NormandyTourism‬ and the WWII history of the DDay Beaches. On its own, @Cherbourg is a lovely town with a beautiful town int hall and a lively center. An hour's drive will get you to Utah and Omaha Beaches, the town of Saint Mere Elise, Bayeaux, and the American Cemetery above Omaha Beach.

Even closer to Cherbourg are the charming villages of Barfleur, Saint Vast la Hougue, Quettehou, Teurtheville Bocage, and Saint Pierre Eglise. Enjoy the quaint fishing villages, stone architecture, typical Norman dishes like mussels in cream sauce, pizza with soft cheese and local sausage, apple cider, chocolates, and pastries.
