Viking age and Medieval Wales wasn't just a backwater next to AngloSaxon England (which didn't really exist for part of the early medieval period anyway) with no sexy archaeology or finds to look at.

The real Medieval Wales was a highly developed society like any other, full of kings, queens and princes, poetry and music, golden treasures, violent medieval battles, and artistic traditions dating back beyond the Romans.

Not to mention King Arthur.
