Michael and Bridgette Abtar moved with their two lovely children moved to GHANA because they fell in love with the land and the people when they visited in 2017. They felt the connection between Jamaicans and Ghanaians and knew they were home.

Michael Abtar, LLB (Hons), PGDip.Law, Cert.DPO
AwardWinning CEO, Global Data Privacy & Protection Expert & International Speaker

He has traveled to numerous African countries on business. As a family, they have been to Kenya, Jamaica, St Vincent, and Barbados. Though they have experienced other countries, they felt most at home in Ghana.

A proud husband, father, and CEO of the worldclass team at IGSmart Ltd, which is multiawardwinning UKbased data protection, privacy, governance, and security consultancy with a global presence (serving clients in over 150 countries).

When he is not steering the business or spending time with family, he can generally be found either cooking for friends, trekking through a tropical rainforest, sailing, or playing with their family's two dogs.

Bridgette is a Digital Marketer who uses digital channels to reach customers, build brand awareness, and promote products and services. Because of the unique combination of planning, creativity, and strategy, her role requires her to wear many hats.

She has mastered a wide range of skills and tools in order to stay on top of the evergrowing digital media channels she uses to create, deploy, manage, and track campaigns. Her experiences have trailblazed her to be Homeschooling and educating their children at home instead of sending them to a traditional public or private school.

The Abtar's believe that the three things you need to make it in GHANA is:
Patience
Humility
Finance.

The Best thing about living in GHANA has been:
Just how welcoming the people are. Most Ghanaians you encounter will go out of their way to help you in whatever way they can.
