HorizonXI is a new vision for FFXI at 75 cap, something that many of us have wanted for the past 10+ years. HorizonXI launched as a progression server starting at the Chains of Promathia expansion.

The server strives to bring players all the content available in the current era, but with some custom balancing changes, new XP camps and more.

HorizonXI preserves what made 75 cap FFXI so special while giving Adventurers new things to explore, and new memories to create.

For me, Final Fantasy XI was my first really big online gaming addiction and it holds some very special memories for me. After playing for 10+ years, I slowly stopped playing, and started playing FFXIV. I still look back on those FFXI days, and especially at the level 75 Era cap, so today, I wanted to try out HorizonXI and see what this feels like, and if it lives up to what the team are saying.

HorizonXI 2023 Description

HorizonXI provides its adventurers with a 75era experience that maintains the spirit of Final Fantasy XI (FFXI) as if SquareEnix had continued to develop the game without ever having raised the level cap above 75. As their name suggests, their primary focus has been to recreate a FFXI experience that ensures horizontal progression for both content and gear. Beginning with their initial launch on December 17th, 2022 with “Chains of Promathia” era content and continuing years into the future, all expansions, including post75cap content, will eventually be rebalanced for our forever75cap private server.

Additionally, HorizonXI plans to effectively “rewrite the narrative” regarding content that many veteran players consider to be “the beginning of the end” for Final Fantasy XI, namely Wings of the Goddess and Abyssea. As such, HorizonXI will present this content in ways that will rework some of the more negative aspects of these patches and stay true to the spirit of what the level 75 cap era was all about – socializing and group oriented play.
