—Rating Explanations—

Cabin Crew:
The cabin crew on today’s flight were very kind and helpful. However when I called for them they didn’t even come. I had to get up from my seat and ask them instead. That wasn’t very convenient especially because I was sitting by the window.

Cabin:
The cabin looked stunning, the choice of colour and pattern was amazing. However everything seemed a bit tight, especially the isle. In my opinion the cloth that drapes over the headrest was a big annoying and ruined the colours. Etihad is known to be orange/yellow, they were blue.

Seat:
The seat was comfy and did the job. However the seat was a little bit narrow. There wasn’t a lot of space to move around. A 6 hour flight is perfect for this, however a flight to New York for example would be a struggle.

Legroom:
The legroom was incredible. Stretching your legs was not a problem at all.

IFE:
The IFE offered a great amount of movies. More than I expected. However it still wasn’t the best. I think more of a variety of movies would make it even better.

Meal:
The first meal which was the chicken curry, pita bread and rice was delicious. No problem with that whatsoever. But when it came to the vegetarian pastry, that wasn’t great at all. I took one bite and decided not to eat it. The coke which I had was also very flat and warm. They put ice in it to make it cold but that just dilutes it and it’s already flat.

Cleanliness:
The cabin seemed clean and smelt great! However when it came to the bathroom, now that was pretty gross. It honestly seemed like feces was rubbed on the top of the toilet, I’m not entirely sure if it was feces, but it was brown. I didn’t want to show it because, well because it was gross.

Website:
Their website was stressful. It was unclear when it came to changing seats and was slow. Some of the things didn’t even work. This could be improved.

Customer Service:
Now this was next level disappointing. We called Etihad Airways up to ask them about the lounge in Abu Dhabi. I was wondering whether you can pay cash at the lounge as my card was experiencing problems. She knew nothing about the lounge even though it was the home of Etihad. When we asked for the phone number to contact the lounge, all she said was “look it up on Google”…Wow! What is the point of your job then? To let
your customers know you can look stuff up on Google? I only gave it a 3 because the first time we spoke to them about a problem with our flight, they helped us rebook to another date and selected my seats for me but besides that, not a good look Etihad!

Value for money:
The value for money was great! It ended up costing about £2200. I flew with Etihad and Malaysia Airlines from London to Denpasar via Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur and with the price and product I got, I’d say it’s pretty worth it. Not entirely whose fault it was, but either Malaysia Airlines or Etihad ended up loosing my luggage which wasn’t great. It was my first time flying so I had to go through the extra stress, a compensation would be greatly appreciated. Though that will never happen.

Conclusion:
So all in all Etihad offers a decent product. I can definitely see why Etihad Airways have gone downhill as they used to be one of the best airlines in the world. I hope to see them regain themselves in the future. But until then, I can’t see myself flying with them in the future mainly because I have to stopover in 2 different places in order to get to Bali (which is my most travelled destination and my mum is there). And it’s so far been quite stressful with them.
