“Why is midAugust also considered a very important time of the year in Japan…?”

One of the most important festival seasons in Japan is here… It’s the “Obon” season! I was very surprised to receive quite a lot of requests for a video about obon, and to know that it is actually celebrated outside of Japan too!

So today, as a Japanese man living in Kyoto, I will explain about the purposes, history, and customs of the obon season. At the end of the video, I would like to introduce a few ways you can enjoy this season, if you ever visit Japan during this season.
