When to change gear uphill - how to drive a manual car

When to gear shift on a steep hill in a manual/stick shift car https://www.drivingschoolbeckenham....

When to change gears and which gear to choose on an uphill or downhill is a common question when learning to drive a manual /stick shift car. You'll probably go over gears and hills during a driving lesson.

Low gears are best when driving uphill (more torque) and when driving downhill (engine braking) to keep the car slow as you'll see in this video.

If you change gear on a hill too early before you've accelerated, the car will struggle and even stall.
