When To Use Thick u0026 Thin Paint in Your Landscape Painting

In opaque (oil and acrylic) painting, as opposed to transparent watercolor, we need the build up of lighter colors to increase the sense of light. And, in contrast, we need the shadow areas to be thinner so that they recede and stay in the shadows.
