In Days Gone, that challenge is taken to a whole new level with its aptly named Survival Mode. In this mode, players are not only faced with the increased challenge of scarcer resources and tougher enemies that deal more damage, but they also have to contend with the removal of the HUD and the option to fast travel. You also don't get the warning music if you are near a horde. So there is more chance of running straight into a Horde.
