SEBI keeps on creating alerts for options traders by providing data on various aspects. In January 2023, the market regulator released the most exhaustive report highlighting that 89% of FnO traders are in loss.

This statistic was widely broadcasted and still appears as the first popup when traders log in to their trading apps.

In all, after that report, everyone has been focussing on the value of 89% ignoring the data of 11% profitable traders. So, we decided to do a dig up on the positive side of this number. The profitable trading part and to really understand who exactly are those profitable traders?

As per that report the top 1 percent and top 5 percent active profit makers accounted for nearly 51% and 75% of the total net profit earned by all active profit makers, respectively.

Age
Gender
Trading Segment
