Glass Joe is famous for being a terrible boxer and the first opponent in Mike Tyson's Punch Out for NES. One of the biggest mysteries around Glass Joe is that despite being an awful boxer, he has one victory on his record. Who could he have possibly beaten?

Although there are a number of theories and even some official stories from Nintendo that tell the story of who was defeated by Glass Joe, these stories are very contradictory and require some analysis to make sense of it.

The Punch Out comic made by Valiant place Little Mac as the person who was defeated by Glass Joe. However, the story in the comics contradicts the story in the game's instruction manual.

Another commonly cited opponent for Glass Joe to have beaten is Nick Bruiser from Super Punch Out. However, Nick Bruiser is shown to be undefeated during Super Punch Out. By analyzing some clues in Super Punch Out, I have devised a theory that explains the contradiction between the story of Glass Joe's win and the Nick Bruiser's spotless record.
