The AH64 Apache is a heavily armed, battletested aircraft. And it’s probably the best attack helicopter used by the US Armed Forces.
The Apache is armed with a devastating 30 mm M230 chain gun that uses high explosive and incendiary rounds It's highly effective against armored vehicles, troops, and buildings at up to 1,640 yards. It also carries a mixture of guided AGM114 Hellfire missiles and Hydra 70 rocket pods.
What really makes the Apache so deadly is how far away it can locate and attack targets. Its sophisticated radar allows the Apache to detect targets from several miles away – and it is so fast, with a top speed of over 220 miles per hour, that the enemy is not even aware that the Apache has arrived and is ready to deliver precise strikes that cause serious damage.
