Tenants across the GTA are nearing the oneyear mark in their rent strikes. Above guideline rent increases, or raised rents above Ontario government rates, are the issue. And although property owners say they're within their legal rights to upgrade the buildings, some longterm tenants may not be able to afford to stay or pay inflated market prices elsewhere.
