The Nazis made a number of confounding decisions in small arms development and procurement during the Second World War, redirecting vital war resources into illfated projects. The Sturmpistole is one such example, where an existing flare gun, the Kampfpistole was tweaked to be able to shoot an antiarmour projectile. Why they needed to do this alongside there already effective array of antitank weapons leaves Jonathan scratching his head.
