Why Didn't The Co-op Just Kill Marlo? | The Wire Explained

CineRanter

The Wire follows the drug trade of Baltimore, from both the side of the cops looking to take down the drug crews, and the kingpins looking to profit from the system.

Marlo Stanfield replaces Avon Barksdale as the kingpin of West Baltimore after Avon is sent to jail. Marlo is unruly and violent, and he causes Proposition Joe and the New Day coop issues with the way he goes about his business, so the question for today’s video is why did the coop not just kill Marlo somewhere along the way? He was a problem for them for so long, what with all the violence in season 3, the refusal to join the coop, his brutal methods in season 4, his killing of Prop Joe, and his dictatorlike rule of the coop.

These guys are gangsters, they are killers themselves, so why not just band together and take Marlo out?
