The reason of roundabouts are to keep the traffic flow, keep the traffic moving as much as possible, and if you stop anyway when it was safe for you to go then you have broken the rule of roundabouts. You must look on your right early on a roundabout and decide if there is a safe gap for you to go, and if there is a safe gap then you should go.

Roundabouts are made and created for a reason and that reason is to keep the traffic moving and if you are the reason for the traffic to be slow then you will fail the driving test for sure.
