This video is a summary of my previous video. I have explained here why gravitational potential energy is negative. I have also discussed the difference between gravitational potential and gravitational potential energy.

As the height of an object increases or decreases it gains and looses potential energy and the same happens when from infinity a mass tries to come within the gravitational field of Earth. Both the cases have been explained here.
