#SilverCity, #NewMexico is located on the edge of the Gila National Forest. Silver City is located at the southern foot of the Piños Altos Range of the Mogollon Mountains. About 10,000 residents live there.

Silver City was founded as a mining town in the summer of 1870. It is about a 2.5hour drive from El Paso, Texas, a 3hour drive from Tucson, Arizona, and a 4hour drive from Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Silver City is the county seat of Grant County, New Mexico, and is home to Western New Mexico University (WNMU), the Silver City Museum, the Silver City Visitor Center, multiple parks and natural areas, and a surprisingly large number of art galleries.

Silver City warrants strong consideration by people interested in #GeographicArbitrage, because its overall cost of living is about 20% lower than that of the United States as a whole. (Geographic arbitrage, or geoarbitrage, means relocating in order to save money.)

The Silver City, New Mexico area was once an Apache camp site. It became a mining center in the late 1800's. Today, Silver City has a reputation for being a center of outdoor recreation, and for having a surprisingly large number of art galleries.
