Why I Want to Be DUMMY STRONG (And How To Get There!)

Today is National DUMMY Strength Day, and I'm setting out to prove that I'm the dumbest MF'er of all! There seems to be a subtle but DRAMATIC difference between the strength built using nothing but highly predictable implements like barbells, and the strength built using anything and everything else. Sandbags, sleds, stuff that you carry, stuff that you throw, stuff that you toss and heave and twist around with, that reverberates and shifts and jars and wobbles when you try to handle it.

There is something to be said about these sorts of movements. There are simply benefits that you can't get from a barbell or other traditional implements, starting with the awkwardness and unpredictability of the movements themselves, down to the myriad of different muscles they somehow force to become involved. Hands, fingers, feet, toes, forearms, upper back, hip stabilizers, and every single piece of your "core" that you didn't even know existed.

In this video I discuss my theories about what dummy strength is, I go over the benefits of building it and enhancing it in yourself, I also discuss who this concept is not applicable to, and lastly I finish by explaining HOW I think its best to build dummy strength for yourself. As for me, I'm going to build a level of brute force that is unrivaled (at least unrivaled by other 170lbs dudes ).
