Why is Nataraja anointed only 6 times?|ஆனி திருமஞ்சனம்|Thiruthala Yathirai|Tamil

அபிஷேகம் என்ற சொல்பதத்தில் வரக்கூடிய ஒன்றுதான் திருமஞ்சனம். திருமஞ்சனம் என்றால் அபிஷேகம் என்று பொருள். சிவனுக்கு மொத்தமாக ஒரு வருடத்தில் ஆறுமுறை சிறப்பான அபிஷேக ஆராதனைகள் நடக்கும். மார்கழியில் வரக்கூடிய ஆருத்ரா தரிசன நாளிலும், ஆனி மாதம் ஷஷ்டி திதி உத்திர நட்சத்திரம் ஒன்று கூடும் நாளில் அதிகாலை நேரத்தில் சிவனுக்கு அபிஷேகங்கள் நடக்கும். மற்ற நான்கு அபிஷேங்களான சித்திரை திருவோணம், ஆவணி சதுர்த்தசி, புரட்டாசி சதுர்த்தசி, மாசி சதுர்த்தசி ஆகிய நாட்களில் மாலைநேரத்தில் அபிஷேகம் நடத்தப்படும்.

Thirumanjanam is something that comes up in the word Abhishekam. Thirumanjana means anointing. Shiva has a total of six special anointing rituals in a year. Lord Shiva will be anointed in the early hours of the day, on the day of Arudra darshan in Margali and on the day of Shashti Tithi Uthra star in the month of August. The other four abhishekas, Chithira Thiruvonam, Avani Chaturthi, Porattasi Chaturthi, Masi Chaturthi, are anointed in the evening.
