Notre Dame historically has had one of the greatest defenses of all time. They play a simplistic style and rely on good positioning and trust in their shortstick Dmids. This season they have only allowed 8.2 goals per game putting them 2nd in goals against in the country while having one of the hardest schedules in the country. Firstteam all Americans like Liam Entenman and Ben Ramsey lead the Irish defense. Newcomers like the freshman Shawn Lyght have made an immediate impact. Aside from the star power the Notre Dame defense tends to just make the small plays that go unnoticed by the casual viewer.
