Don Davis' score for The Matrix is perfectly suited to the multilayered world that the Wachowskis created it's full of polytonality and polyharmony and is constructed, unlike a traditional score, using several separate musical cells instead of melodic themes. And it all culminates in what I believe is one of the best musical conclusions for any film. Let's find out why it's so good.
