The Soundtrack Music to The Matrix, by Don Davis, is an incredible work of Minimalism, influenced by John Adams, Steve Reich, Philip Glass, as well as others such as Lutoslawski and Ligeti.

This video looks at the minimalist music in Don Davis's score for the Matrix, and how it uses Motifs, Themes, Theme, Ostinatos, Rhythms, Canon, and other techniques to achieve its effect.

The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, and The Matrix Revolutions were three important films in the scifi genre.
