These 2 reasons are my biggies for mulching this summer. Also I cover what I'm amending my inground fig trees with before I add the mulch. Finally I have one important yet simple strategy I use to make sure my fig trees do well with their new mulch layer.

I had 6 cubic yards delivered to my home form Wilmington and about 1/3 went to my fig micro orchard. The rest covered the back of my property and other fruit trees and I may need more! That's ok with me after learning about how IMPORTANT it is to mulch your gardens and green space on a regular basis, to keep your plants healthy in this hot summer sun!
