Margaret Heffernan is an entrepreneur, author and CEO. After working for the BBC as a producer, she started and run five media and high tech businesses and now writes books, blogs and plays about how we work. She is a passionate believer in honesty, creative conflict and courage which are needed to overcome our fears and help us widen and enrich the people and ideas we were prepared to engage with. As a speaker and mentor she speaks about finding and managing highachieving talent and innovation in organizations and the role of leaders in this process. She is Visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship at Simmons College in Boston and Executive in Residence at Babson College, and sits on the boards of several councils and private companies.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, selforganized events that bring people together to share a TEDlike experience.
