A warm winter walk through Winnipeg’s Exchange District.
Started at Waterfront drive and Galt Ave, west on Alexander, left on Lily, west on Pacific hoping that Colosimo Cafe was open but alas, it was not. Carried back up Pacific to Waterfront, around to James, and wound around some of the smaller streets to end up on Market, Bannatyne, McDermot, Rorie and Lombard, ending the journey through Stephen Juba Park along the river.
It was fun to see all the ghost signs, the old buildings, the amazing architecture, the small businesses and the sunshine! The mix of old and new was really astounding sometimes but it all works together.
Some places we passed: Patent 5 Distillery, Sport Manitoba building, Colosimo Cafe, Nonsudh Brewery, Botanical Paper, Mere Hotel, Cibo Restaurant, Corrientes, Harrison’s, Kevin’s Bistro, Hermanos, BluFish, Parlour Coffee, Woodbine HotelCommunity Gym, Johnny G’s, Wee Johnny’s, UN Luggage, Forth, Salisbury House, Ira’s Deli, Nutty Club, Shaw Park.
