A few weekends ago my boyfriend and I went on a weekend backpacking trip with my mom and dad. Yes, it was cold… but we needed to try out the new tent (Durston XMid Pro 2), along with other new gear items, and my mom and I were impatient to get outside on a hike again.

I have mixed feelings on this tent, but I do like it and will use it again. I want to try again in warmer weather and actually use the vents at the top of the tent.

Route:
Start at Gorges State Park, NC.
Hike Auger Hole Trail to Foothills Trail. (~7.1 miles)
Hike Foothills Trail to Toxaway campsites. (~5.2 miles)
Camp at Toxaway. (TOTAL DAY 1 = 12.3 miles)
Hike Canebrake Trail to Gorges parking.
(TOTAL DAY 2 = 5.2 miles)
Total Hike = 17.6 miles
