Winter Plankton Zaps drum and percussion module. Full tutorial and patch examples

I first saw Zaps at Superbooth Berlin in 2021 and was immediately impressed at good it was at percussion sounds. Zaps is a drum and percussion synth voice uniquely designed for creating organic sequences that can mutate over time. It's a collaboration between Winter Modular and Plankton Electronics (now known as Winter Plankton) and musician Miguel Eedl. Zaps uses a combination of different techniques like controlled randomness, morphing, and storing (or locking) synthvoice parameters in externally sequenced CVcontrolled slots.

I spent a few weeks really getting to know Zaps and learning how it works. The result is this video which is a deep tutorial on Zaps features and how to use it in a eurorack modular setup for percussion. Zaps is a powerful module that requires some study to get to grips with, and this video will help you get started with it quickly.

Thanks to Winter Plankton for sending Zaps to me so I could make this video!
