In July 2023 winters, we visited Northern Drakensberg Mountains near Sentinel Peak. It started snowing heavily during the night until next morning. When it does snow in the Drakensberg Mountains it's exciting. The spectacular views of snow in Drakensberg makes it so worth the drive. This short video visualizes my experience of snowfall in South Africa. The video was shot near Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge.

GIANT'S CASTLE is situated in the Central Drakensberg and offers some spectacular snow views of the Drakensberg Mountains that is if it does snow.
HIGHMOOR is the highest KZN Wildlife camp in the Drakesberg so its little wonder the Highmoor experiences more snow than any other part of the Drakensberg Mountains.
UNDERBERG and SANI PASS where winter snow is more or less assured. To make the most of the snow at the top of the pass, book a stay at Sani Mountain Lodge.
