I set up at my primitive shelter with wood stove made out of waddle and daub, clay, and mud hut, sticks and bed made out of straw. I set traps for rodents, and other small animals and cook over the fire using primitive cooking techniques. I cook fish, squirrel and a surprise catch.

I make a bowdrill primitive friction fire using cedar hearth board, new cedar spindle and bow, with a found tinder bundle which I found from a squirrel nest.

I sleep using only minimal gear and no sleeping bag by wood stove heat in the primitive mud hut shelter, the bordei.

I will show you stepbystep how to make a bow drill fire using cedar that can be found in nearly any forest. From selecting the right kinds of woods, shaping the bow, spindle and bearing block to the tinder, kindling, soft and hard wood. I also show how to cut the notch and how deep to go and how to hold the bow and drill for maximum results.
