For this hunt we set off down south head first into a wintry blast straight from the Antarctic. The plan was to spend a week exploring a catchment right at the base of the main divide of the Southern Alps in search of a mature bull tahr. During winter bull tahr grow a magnificent mane to keep them warm during the harsher months and to protect their neck whilst fighting with other bulls throughout their rutting period. This mane, combined with their hooked horns draw in hunters from around the world in search of a trophy. Watch along as we brave the elements and steep country that these animals thrive in to secure a bull worthy of the wall.
